By stage

Complaint, investigation, hearing, reinstatement

Boards differ, but most files move in the same order. We price each stage separately, so you pay for the stage you're in and decide about the next one when you get there.

If you aren't sure which stage you're in, send the letter. The call to read it is a flat fee of its own.

Signs you're at this stage

  • A notice that a complaint was received

  • A request for your written response

  • An investigator's call or interview request

  • A notice of hearing or a proposed settlement

Where you are

Four stages, one file

  1. 01

    Complaint

The board has received something about you. Our job is to read it exactly and to answer what it asks.

  2. 02

    Investigation

An investigator gathers records and may call you. We prepare you and attend by video.

  3. 03

    Hearing or settlement

The board offers terms or sets a hearing. We negotiate, and we try the file if terms don't make sense.

  4. 04

    Reinstatement or renewal

After a suspension or a gap, the board wants a record of what changed. We assemble it.

Not sure which stage this is?

Send the letter and a note of any date it mentions. We'll tell you where the file stands and what comes next.

A call doesn't make us your lawyers; a signed engagement letter does. The fees page lists what each stage costs.
