Questions

What licensed professionals ask first

If yours isn't here, ask it on the first call.

Should I answer the board myself first?

Please don't. A response becomes part of your record, and the deadline is usually longer than it feels. Send us the letter, and we'll read it with you before anything goes back.

How soon should I call?

As soon as the letter arrives. The letter states a deadline, and a call in the first few days gives us time to ask the board for more time if you need it.

Will my employer find out?

It depends on the board, the stage and your contract. Some boards notify employers and some outcomes are public. We tell you what each stage may show, and who sees it.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. Each stage has a flat fee, listed on the fees page. Costs paid to others, such as filing fees and experts, are billed at cost and quoted first.

What if my case needs more than the stages you list?

We quote it in writing before we begin, so you know the price before you decide.

Can you promise the complaint will be dismissed?

No lawyer can. We can tell you what the board is likely to do, what the choices are and what each would show on your record.

Do I need to tell my employer or my malpractice insurer?

Some employment contracts and policies require notice. Bring them to the first call and we'll read them with you before you decide.

Can you help if I'm renewing and there's something in my past?

Yes. A renewal with a disclosure question has its own flat fee, and we'll prepare the explanation and the papers behind it.

Is what I tell you confidential?

Once we agree to represent you, yes. Before that, keep your first message short, write from a personal email, and don't use a work device or work account.

I live far from Norman. Does that matter?

Rarely. Nearly everything runs by video, so we work with clients around the state. If a hearing must be in person, travel is billed at cost.

Something we didn't cover?

Book a video call and bring the letter with you.

A call doesn't make us your lawyers; a signed engagement letter does.
